nanoe^{TM (*1)} LED Lighting Unit to Offer Comfortable In-vehicle Environment

- Adopted as Dealer Option for New Cars "Passo" and "Boon" Co-developed by Toyota and Daihatsu -

Panasonic Electric Works Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as PEW) developed an in-vehicle unit (product name at Toyota and Daihatsu: "nanoe^TM*Drive Shower") which combines the nanoe technology for moisturizing skin and making hair manageable, which has already been implemented in hair dryers and facial steamers, with the high-color rendering LED lighting technology accumulated in development of "EVERLEDS^TM"^(*2)LED lighting fixtures characterized by high environmental performance and excellent design. "nanoe^TM*Drive Shower" is supplied by Panasonic Corporation Automotive Systems Company (headquartered in Yokohama-city, Kanagawa ; Representative: Kazuhiro Tsuga) as a dealer optional accessory for two car models of Toyota "Passo" and Daihatsu "Boon" co-developed by the two auto companies and released on February 15. PEW's proprietary nanoe technology and highly reliable LED lighting technology were chosen as then meet the functional needs of Toyota "Passo" and Daihatsu "Boon" that are developed mainly as women's cars.

"nanoe^TM*Drive Shower" includes a nanoe ion generator which has skin-moisturizing and hair-shining effects. A nanoe ion particle contains more than 1,000 times (in volume) as much water as a negative ion and, being wrapped in water, it is less likely to evaporate in air allowing its mild acidity to work gently on skin and hair. The high-color rendering LED lighting makes the skin color look more natural, and can be used not merely as a courtesy light but to assist a beautiful makeup. The angle of this LED lighting fixture is adjustable to fit body height or desirable seat positions during makeup.

Characteristics of nanoe

(1)How a nanoe device works
The device generates nanoe ions, each approximately 5-10 nm in diameter by cooling the atomizing electrode with a Peltier module, condensing vapor in the air at the atomizing electrode and applying high voltage between the atomizing electrode and the counter electrode.

(2)Structure of nanoe
Unlike negative ion, the highly reactive element of nanoe ion is wrapped in water, making it less likely to react with oxygen and nitrogen elements in the air and working on the skin and hair in a stable manner.

Characteristics of adjustable LED lighting fixture

(1) High-color rendering LED to assist a natural and beautiful makeup
The high-color rendering light which contains more green and red wavelengths is capable of better reproducing natural color.

(2)Adjustable angle to support desirable makeup position
The angle of the LED lighting fixture is adjustable within the range shown in the diagram to support desirable lighting positions according to body height and seat position of the driver or the front passenger.
