Human Rights

PolicyObjectives
Every person is endowed with a natural right to live happily as a human being. Unfortunately, human rights issues still exist in Japan, including the "Dowa" problem and discrimination against foreigners, females, disabled persons, seniors, etc. At Panasonic Electric Works, activities are underway to create agreeable and discrimination-free workplaces, through every employee having proper knowledge about and recognition of human rights issues.

Activities
During Human Rights Week, in December each year, external specialists are invited to conduct seminars on human rights. These seminars are viewed at all our business units in Japan by way of corporate satellite communication.

Results for FY2010
In December 2009, a seminar was held under the theme "Establishing a Society in which Everyone Acts Sensitively Toward One Another - Employment of Disabled Persons and Human Rights". Some 300 persons came together in the seminar hall.
