Risk Management
We have established a promotion scheme for risk management, with the following basic purposes.
Basic purposes
- 1. To ensure continuous supply and provision of our products and services, and to fulfill our social responsibility through the establishment of safety and security for all stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, local residents, shareholders and employees; guaranteeing legal compliance in business activities; conserving management resources of Panasonic Electric Works Group, and enhancing effectiveness and efficiency of operations
- 2. To enable more secure achievement of business objectives and sustainable and stable development
Promotion scheme
In order to promote risk management, the CSRM*1 Committee has been established with the President as Chairman. The CSRM Officer is responsible for actual promotion.
With the CSRM Committee as the hub, functional divisions provide expert input in key corporate risk areas and specialized fields, while corporate divisions promote risk management as risk owners for their own business management activities.
- * "CSRM" is an internal term created by combining CS (corporate social responsibility) and RM (risk management).

Activities
In order to achieve these basic objectives, we annually promote activities aimed at dissemination and establishment of the action principles listed below.

- 1. Directors, Executive Officers and employees of Panasonic Electric Works Group should identify potential risks through joint and exhaustive corporate-wide efforts, and should promote risk management combined with business administration in accordance with the significance of each risk in order to achieve the basic objectives of risk management.
- 2. Directors, Executive Officers and employees of Panasonic Electric Works Group should promote risk management using appropriate methods in accordance with risk changes.
- 3. Directors, Executive Officers and employees of Panasonic Electric Works Group should report information regarding risks and emergency situations to managers and related departments, without delay.
- 4. In the case of an emergency, Directors, Executive Officers and employees of Panasonic Electric Works Group should take responsible actions in order to achieve the basic objectives of risk management.
Results for FY2010
1. Set key corporate risks and promoted relevant measures.
Since FY2006, we have delineated key corporate risks and established schemes for their management.

In FY2010, we delineated twelve items, including pandemic influenza, as key risks, and promoted relevant measures.
2. Promoted Business Contingency Plans (BCP)
Since FY2008, we have formulated BCP for response to earthquake and pandemic influenza events.
In FY2010, we applied the BCP in response to the A/H1N1 pandemic influenza that originated in Latin America.
