History

In October 2008, the name of our company was changed from 'Matsushita Electric Works' to 'Panasonic Electric Works.' In the same year, we also celebrated the 90th anniversary of our company's foundation. We are extremely grateful for the loyal patronage of all our customers, which has allowed our company to continue its business operations for so long. Since the development of our 'attachment plugs,' launched when the company was founded 90 years ago, we have continued to pass on our technological strengths in order to steadily expand our business. The metal processing technology used to make the base of the attachment plug would then become the cornerstone of our lighting products business and home appliances business starting with our 'vibrators.' Using the manufacturing technologies developed for the attachment plugs, our company later expanded its business into information equipment and wiring products, such as wiring fixtures. The switching technologies developed for our 'turn-key lamp sockets' allowed us to create 'built-in toggle switches' and later expand our business into automation controls, such as 'micro switches.' Our company's plastic molding technology became the foundation for our electronic and plastic materials business, such as 'phenol resins,' and was even developed later into the building products business, starting with our 'rain gutters.'
